Anthony Schlegel is a tough run stopper reminiscent of former Buckeyes like Chris Spielman, though not in his class athletically. Anthony makes most of his tackles inside the tackle box and rarely misses a tackle or makes an assignment mistake. He can be an explosive hitter within that short area, showing fine hand technique, leverage, overall strength and the ability to shed and stack at the point of attack..

Anthony Schlegel has limited range in pass coverage and is taken out on obvious passing downs. In space, he lacks the hip flexibility in addition to only average foot speed. He is an old-school, high-motor type who gives great effort all the time, though he could be limited for the pros by his average athleticism.

Not the player his press clippings would suggest. Big defender with fine size, production and intangibles but only marginal speed and overall athletic ability, so he is limited to being a two-down defender. His 4.8 speed may limit him on special teams. Only a late second-day pick or free-agent signee with some skills.
