Strengths:
Leon Hall is a smooth athlete with fluid hips and great quickness. He has very good size which he uses to be physical, tough and aggressive. Hall is outstanding on run support and is a reliable tackler and should get a good look in the first round of the NFL draft as a result. Leon can be considered a playmaker who has great hands and ball skills, he is very smart with excellent instincts and awareness. He is technically and fundamentally sound and is extremely versatile and has also seen some action at safety. He is a coach's dream; he is a hard worker with those premier intangibles that makes him one of the top Corners in the 2007 NFL Draft. Leon has a lot of experience against Big Ten competition and might see some time as a punt returner.

Weaknesses:
Though Leon Hall is quick he might not have that elite speed the NFL scouts are looking for. Lacking explosive speed he tends to give up a big cushion in coverage and because he lacks a burst he struggles to recover from mistakes. Some scouts have him pegged as a tweener, he's a bit of a CB / S, especially if he does not run well in workouts. Receivers will make some catches against him so he might be best suited as a zone coverage player in the NFL.

Notes:
Terrific cover guy with top notch credential, but Leon Hall is not quite in the same class as guys like Deion Sanders and Champ Bailey. The Wolverines have been producing pro defensive backs in the last few years (i.e. Ty Law, Charles Woodson and Marlin Jackson) and Leon Hall should make an excellent member of that team. Teams are always looking for prospects with this much upside so he should easily be the first cornerback selected and he'll more than likely be drafted early in the first round of 2007.
