Jonathan Joseph #46 prospect in 2006 NFL Draft.

Jonathan Joseph NFL Draft Bio

Jonathan Joseph is a decent athlete who has excellent timed and recovery speed. He is not a big player but he does have pretty good size. He has been productive and led South Carolina in interceptions in 2005 season. Joseph is a reliable tackler who will support the run. He has fluid hips and good feet and looks very natural in coverage with the ability to play man-to-man. Jonathan Joseph is an interesting prospect who still has a lot of upside and could really develop at the next level.

Jonathan really does not have a lot of experience and is a project type player. Jonathan Joseph is still raw and needs to work on refining his technique and mastering the nuances of the game. With a lack to playing time he is somewhat of a risky pick in that you are largely basing his selection on potential. Some scouts point to the 2004 season where he had a broken foot and feel he might have injury problems. A lot of potential but a bit of a risk to take early in the draft.

Jonathan Joseph started his career at Coffeyville (KS) Junior College after high school. Missed all but two games of his first season with the Gamecocks so 2005 was essentially his only year against real competition. Jonathan has a good start to his career but he hasn’t even begun to show us what kind of talent he has. Without playing as much as scouts would like he has been overshadowed by Ko Simpson. You could see his stock soar once teams go back and look at the tape and see him in workouts. Very risky pick early in the draft but might be a great pickup later in the second round.
