Manny Lawson is an amazing athlete with rare ability who has seen his stock drop a little recently. Manny has outstanding speed and quickness and can transition into full speed quickly. Manny Lawson is extremely explosive, which makes him a tremendous pass rusher off the edge. Decent agility, great instincts and a sure tackler who can make plays in space. He has the ability to drop into coverage and is smart possessing good instincts. Lawson is a very productive, college player who has a knack for being disruptive to the office. Manny Lawson’s vertical jump is higher than the device used to measure it which suggests how good an athlete this guy is. Manny Has a lot of upside and his potential is almost off the charts.

Manny Lawson is undersized for a defensive end or a an outside linebacker. He really needs to build his core strength up if he wishes to keep his position in the NFL He has some trouble defending the run and gets engulfed by massive offensive tackles. Manny needs to continue to work on his techniques as he doesn’t always play with good leverage. Manny Lawson needs to make better use of his hands. Scouts feel he relies on his speed game too heavily and needs to develop further. Manny will not be a good fit on every team and will need to be in the right system to succeed.

Manny Lawson competed as a hurdler, long jumper, triple jumper and relay runner for the Wolfpack track team. The prevalence of the 3-4 defenses in the NFL will likely help Lawson's case as he would seem to be a prototypical OLB is that scheme. Expect Manny to be drafted in the middle of the second round. If he goes earlier it will be to a team that feels they need his athleticism.
