Kamerion Wimbley #40 prospect in 2006 NFL Draft.

Kamerion Wimbley NFL Draft Bio

Kamerion Wimbley is a very gifted natural athlete for a man of his size. And he is fast and very quick with a great burst of speed. Wimbley is very disruptive and can wreak havoc rushing the passer off the edge. With good speed he does an excellent job in pursuit and can close on the ball quickly. He has decent mobility and can change direction well. Kamerion Wimbley was a very productive player playing on a very talented defense. Kamerion has those top notch skills and intangibles to make him highly sought after. With speed and strength he is also an excellent special teams prospect. Kamerion Wimbley is still developing and hasn't reached his full potential yet.

Kamerion Wimbley is a little undersized and lacks bulk for a defensive end. NFL scouts have said that they would like to see him add a few pounds by hitting weight room and getting stronger. Defensive end is a difficult position to play in the NFL for an undersized player and Kamerion Wimbley may have to change positions to become a starter. Wimbley needs to work on some aspects of his game still, he does not hold up at the point of attack, he is a bit of a liability against the run, needs to have better use of his hands and struggles to shed blockers. Kamerion’s game is all about speed and he will need to add another dimension to his game to be effective at the NFL level. Teams who draft Wimbley may only want him as a situational player which will drop his stock.

Kamerion Wimbley could make a decent 3-4 outside linebacker. Wimbley has recognized that his strength was an issue as he entered college at only 210 lbs so he has done a good job of adding weight and has the frame to get bigger still. Kamerion Wimbley is the perfect in between sized player who will be drafted by someone who can use his skill set. At the very least Kamerion should excel as a situational pass rusher which will ensure he gets drafted in the first 2 rounds of the draft. Kamerion Wimbley still has a lot of upside and his potential alone will make teams give him a good hard look.
