NFL Draft Scouting Report
Played at the Senior Bowl, where he performed well and elevated his stock … Versatile … Can play tackle or end in a 4-3 and would seem suited to being a 3-4 end in the pros … Explosive at the snap … Gets penetration … Does not have a wide variety of pass rushing moves, tending to rely on strength to bull rush his man … Collapses the pocket … Good toughness … Has sub 4.9 speed and is athletic … Has had problems with both knees over the last few years … Rushed the QB and batted the ball against Tennessee and also stuffed a run … Got some good pressure against Alabama, although the pass was still completed … Got some good penetration to slow down the running game against LSU, including one play where he contained the run to the inside and then made the tackle … Also got some good pressure on the QB and at one point was blatantly held, although this was not called … Got some reps at DT against Georgia and stuffed a run at the line of scrimmage as well as getting some pressure on the QB … Capped his performance by recovering a fumble on the eight yard line and carrying it in for a 21-0 lead, as UF held on to win 21-14 … Showed some good speed and an inside move to get some pressure on the QB against South Carolina and made a solid tackle from behind on a screen pass short of a first down … Also, powered up the middle to block a key third quarter field goal with the scores tied as UF went on to win 17-16 … Started at DT against FSU and, from a three man front, overpowered the OL to record a sack as the QB stepped up and then crucially batted down a fourth down pass at the line of scrimmage with one minute left to preserve UF's 21-14 win ... Some teams are reported to have been put off by the fact that he has no ACL in his knee
