NFL Draft Scouting Report
Played at the Senior Bowl and had a good week and a solid performance in the game … Similar build to London Fletcher-Baker (ie short, but big and strong) … Would probably only really be suitable as a MIKE for a 3-4 team due to his size … Is widely considered as having decent, but not outstanding speed, but some sources believe he is faster than most people think … Will be trying to convince teams that he can have success similar to guys like Sam Mills and Mike Singletary who were of similar stature … Attacks the line of scrimmage … Gets into the backfield … Covers receivers underneath, but there are doubts over his downfield coverage skills … Plays hard and gets to the football … Wore #50 on Senior day in honor of Ron "Farooq" Simmons … Preseason all-ACC selection … 20 tackles in the first two games of 2006, including a jarring hit on Miami's Tyrone Moss … Plays with intensity … Busted up the middle unblocked to sack the QB for a safety against Virginia in 33-0 win … Also displayed good pass coverage and made several plays against the run, but did get called for an unsportsmanlike penalty for jawing with the ball carrier after a fourth quarter tackle … Took good angle to make hit on Percy Harvin in loss to Florida and also did quite well in pass coverage, shutting out Cornelius Ingram until the 3rd and knocking the ball out of a WRs hands with a big hit, but overall it was a quiet performance and he did give up a key FD by letting a WR jump in front on him … Quiet game in 44-27 Emerald Bowl win over UCLA, but did dive on a fumble in the first half.

Big hitter and solid tackler...Good pass rusher and blitzer...Versatile and can play inside or outside... doesn't have prototypical height, but makes up for it with physical play.
