Kenny Irons #52 prospect in 2007 NFL Draft.

Kenny Irons NFL Draft Bio

Kenny Irons (born September 15, 1983) is an American football running back who played for Auburn University in the Southeastern Conference. He is from Dacula, Georgia and transferred to Auburn from South Carolina in January 2004. Irons led the SEC in total rushing yards in 2005. Prior to the 2006 season, he was named to pre-season conference lists and considered a Heisman candidate, but was plagued by injuries. Despite battling and turf toe and various other injuries Irons still managed to averaged 4.8 yards per carry. Irons had been projected to be selected in the first or second round of the 2007 NFL Draft and had been compared to former Auburn-back Cadillac Williams by ESPN in their pre-Draft speculations. His burst, quickness, and running style have been compared to former Mississippi State and current Atlanta Falcons' back Jerious Norwood by NFLDraftScout.com. Irons was selected in the 2nd round (49th overall pick) of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Kenny's older brother, David Irons, was a starting cornerback for Auburn and is also due to be drafted in the 2007 NFL Draft.
