Quentin Moses NFL Draft Bio
Quentin Moses NFL Draft Bio

Quentin Moses was born on November 18, 1983 in Athens, Georgia. He is currently a prospect for the 2007 NFL Draft and a defensive end for Georgia.

High School Career
Moses attended Cedar Shoals. He was a prepStar All-Southeast Region, Atlanta Journal -Constitution Top 50 in Georgia, and named to Athens Banner-Herald All-Northeast Georgia team senior season as a defensive lineman.

College Career
Moses redshirted in 2002. As a redshirt freshman in 2003, he was a third-string defensive end and played in all 14 games. He was named to the SEC All-Freshman first team by the SEC coaches and The Sporting News. In 2004, as a backup, Moses had 23 total tackles including 6.5 sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss as well as being a member of the 2004 SEC Academic Honor Roll. In 2005, he took over the starting position. He recorded 11.5 sacks and was named a member of the first team All-SEC by the Associated Press and the SEC Coaches, named All-America third team by Rivals.com, and was a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Heading into 2006, Moses was named to the Bednarik Award Watch List, a pre-season All-America first team, All-SEC first team, and SEC Defensive Player of the Year by The Sporting News. At the end of the season, he was announced as a third team All-American. Ironically, however, he made neither the first, or second, team SEC. Those who received the awards were not given All-America honors.

Strengths:
Quentin Moses is an outstanding athlete who isery quick with a great burst to close. Moses is an excellent natural pass rusher who just knows how to get after the quarterback and makess a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage. Quentin Moses appears to play faster than he times, as he moves well in pursuit and covers a lot of ground. Moses has a nice solid frame with long arms, has fluid movements and changes direction well. He is a smart player who works hard and has a solid repertoire of pass rush moves. Quentin is a very versatile player and has experience dropping into coverage and making big plays. He is a great prospect with first rate intangibles.

Weaknesses:
Currently Quentin Moses is a little undersized for the pro game and really needs to add some weight, but he has the frame to get bigger. Quentin plays pass really well but is a bit of a liability against the run at this point in his development. As mentioned before. his timed speed is surprisingly slow compared with his on field performance. Strength is an issue, he is not very physical, and doesn't get much of a push. A bit rough around the edges, Quentin Moses will have to be coached up on his technique and work on mastering the nuances of the game. Some scouts worry as he did not live up to the expectations in 2006 and may find his stock dropping in the 2007 NFL draft. A few have even questioned his heart and desire, does he really want to play the game or not?

Notes:
Quentin Moses was also a top rated basketball player in high school and actually saw some action on the Bulldog's hoops team early in his career. Before the season started Moses was rated by many as the top senior prospect in the country, regardless of position. At some point during the season, Quentin seemed to lose focus and may have been playing not to get hurt. He could potentially slot nicely into a 3-4 outside linebacker in the right scheme. Quentin Moses is a very talented player who could end up being a steal if he reverts to the form that he showed as a junior.
