Jamar Williams is a instinctive linebacker who reads the play well. Jamar does a good job of getting outside to disrupt screen plays before they can get started and he has quick and strong hands to jolt offensive line blockers. He Reads the quarterback well in zone coverage and has the hands to make the big play and tough interception. A little slow off the line, Jamar Williams has decent playing speed and can chase down plays in backside pursuit.

Jamar Williams is short for middle linebacker and does not show the athleticism and playing speed to make up for it. Jamar Williams does not play to his timed speeds as he lacks the quick feet and agility to move through traffic. Jamar lacks the elite speed to chase down plays in pursuit and looks stiff and choppy dropping off the ball into coverage. He does not break down and tackle well out in space.
