Evans is a very good athlete with the feet and agility that is rarely seen is a 325-plus pound offensive tackle. Jahri has the foot quickness and playing speed to get through to the second level to block linebackers very easily and can pull and make very effective blocks out in front on outside runs. Evans has the natural strength and can clamp down on the defensive end easily, turning and sealing him out of the play. Jahri Evans is highly competitive and consistently stays after blocks from snap to whistle.

Jahri Evans does not have good footwork, making him not as productive as he is capable. Instead of sliding out to the corner in pass protection, Evans tends to stand up, turn and run to the corner to block wide rushers which gets him in trouble by edge rushers and by quick pass-rush moves back to the inside. Jahri pass blocks upright and high, does not fire-off the ball on run blocks and does not drive defensive linemen off the line of scrimmage. While he usually blocks well in space, he does get lazy at times, stops feet and leans to maintain contact and ends up falling off and losing block.
