Owen Daniels is a good athlete with smooth movements Daniels is more of a possession receiver as he is good at getting his head and hands around quickly out of cuts and can pluck the quick-hitting pass easily. Owen has good receiving skills in terms of hands, concentration, sharp routes and body control. Owen Daniels has experience lining up in a variety of positions (In-line tight end, Move H-back and fullback), so he is a smart football player. He gives a good effort as a blocker.

Owen Daniels didn't play a lot and was primarily the No. 2 tight end at Wisconsin and was used mostly when they went to two-tight end sets. Despite being a decent athlete Owen lacks a burst out of cuts to get separation and does not have the playing speed to get separation down the seam. He is thin and lacks the bulk & strength to consistently block his man out of the play at the next level.
