He is dynamic in the open field and a threat to score every time he touches the ball. Devin Hester has great ball skills, displays fluid hips and great feet. Devin is a versatile player who has experience at corner, wideout and running back. With speed, agility, and quickness Devin Hester may be the best return man available in the 2006 NFL draft. He has some top intangibles and major upside.

For all of Devin Hester’s physical qualities he really lacks experience as a starter and never stuck with one position. Scouts really have to draft wisely as he might be a better corner then wide receiver. Devin is still extremely raw and needs a lot of development and technique to learn the nuances of the game. Hester is not very physical and scouts think for now, he might be best suited as a special teams guy.

Devin Hester has major upside there is no denying his talent and potential but he needs some time to develop into a starter. The fact is, right now he doesn't have a position. He has the physical tools to be a top cornerback or worse case scenario he should be an exceptional return man. Scouts might just select him as a gamble in a earlier spot than expected but in doing so they are really taking a huge risk.
