Charles Spencer #37 prospect in 2006 NFL Draft.

Charles Spencer NFL Draft Bio

Charles Spencer is an excellent athlete who has great size and a large frame. Charles moves well and has good feet for a man of his size. He is extremely strong and powerful and is an outstanding run blocker. At times he is so overpowering he dominates the game. Its not often a guard comes into the draft that is versatile, and experienced at both left guard and left tackle. Charles Spencer has the hardnosed defensive player’s attitude and mindset who is a team leader and hard worker. Spencer is an ever improving talent who has a lot of upside.

Charles Spencer needs to work on his technique and master the nuances of a single position before taking on a new one. Unfortunately Spencer did not have a great senior season after he was moved to tackle. He struggled with speed rushers, and generally looked out of place for most of the year. Early in his career, Charles dealt with knee and shoulder injuries which will concern some teams. Charles Spencer is still a raw prospect who needs development, since he doesn't have a lot of experience on offense.

Charles Spencer senior year stats are a little misleading and some teams might drop his stock value down. The first two seasons Spenser played defensive tackle at Pittsburgh, but was moved to the offensive side of the ball as a junior where he really started to shine. He could project to either guard or right tackle in the NFL and he has the tools you look for and a lot of potential. Don’t be surprised if Charles Spencer is taken in the first round, but we feel he will drop to early second round.
