Chad Jackson #30 prospect in 2006 NFL Draft.

Chad Jackson NFL Draft Bio

Chad Jackson has excellent size for the wide receiver position. Chad is touted as an outstanding natural athlete who has very good speed and quickness. Jackson is explosive with a burst, runs well after the catch and in the open field. Chad has solid and reliable hands that can make that big catch. He runs good routes, has an above average vertical leap and is not afraid to work in the middle of the field. Chad Jackson can be a vertical threat, a weapon in the red zone, and can run the deep out. Chad is full of potential and land still has a lot of upside.

Chad Jackson was a late bloomer and didn't really emerge as a big threat until this past season. With only one year of starting experience under his belt, teams might be a little leery on drafting him too early. Chad needs to work on his physical game, needs to gain a little strength, and work on his intensity. Though he can block if need be, Chad can definitely use some improvement as a blocker. As a junior, Chad Jackson was not known as a deep threat.

Recruited out of high school Chad Jackson has shown his elite talent level. Last year saw Jackson’s yards per catch average drop from 22.3 in 2004 to 10.2 in 2005. The down turn is as a result of Chad becoming a more integral part of the offense in 2005. He caught a lot more short route passes as Urban Meyer's offense strategy employs. Chad is a well-rounded and talented prospect who possesses all the physical tools to be a #1 NFL wide receiver. Expect Chad to go in the first round of 2006 NFL entry draft. There are plenty more positives then negatives in his game.
