Gabe Watson NFL Draft Bio
Gabe Watson NFL Draft Bio

Gabe Watson is a big man who is a solid athlete with good quickness for a man of his dimensions. Gabe moves well and has a good burst who is can surprise his opponents. Watson is an immovable force who can control the line and is a first rate run stuffer. He is incredibly tough to block one-on-one and usually requires double teams, which he has shown the ability to beat. Gabe Watson is very strong and a great bull rusher who will collapse the pocket. Though not primarily a pass rusher, he can get good penetration when sent.

Gabe Watson is an underachiever who doesn't always play up to his talent level. One moment he looks like a cant miss top 10 pick and the next play looks like a 3 stringer at best. Lacks self motivation and needs to show more effort on a consistent basis to achieve his potential. Concerned scouts only need to point to his benching as a senior to remind themselves of the risks. His weight is up and down as he struggles to stay in shape. As a big man, he lacks stamina and easily runs out of gas. If he wants to make it in the NFL he is going to have to put in some solid effort to condition himself and keep himself motivated. It is apparent that he gets knocked to the ground more then he should and will never become a great pass rusher.

Looks like Gabe Watson should slot in as a possible 3-4 nose tackle. When on his game, Gabe can be very disruptive and the little things he does don't always show up in the box score. Watson has more potential then most players in the draft, but only shows up periodically throughout the game. Gabe Watson has the potential to be a great player at the next level but any team drafting him will be gambling that they can get the best out of him. Teams will be gambling on his talent taking over and not his inconsistent play, to select him. Gabe is a player that might go in the first round, but may slip deep into the second round.
