Darnell Bing NFL Draft Bio

Darnell Bing Has excellent size, he is tough, strong and physical. He has explosive power and is a natural athlete. Darnell’s instinct for the game is as good as any player in this year’s draft. Darnell Bing is a sure tackler who can really lay a hit on an unsuspecting opponent. He has that star quality knack for always being around the ball and making those big plays when needed. Darnell Bing has great hands, he is able to pick off passes and snag tipped or deflected balls with apparent ease. He is productive and experienced for a young college player as he has been a started for three years with the Trojans.

With all of the upside Darnell Bing does not have a great timed speed. He has a little problem with coverage as he would rather lay that big hit rather than the secure tackle. Aggression is a good thing but Darnell may actually be too aggressive at times and will over pursue. Another concern scouts may have are with his durability, as he has a history of minor injuries that have hampered his career.

Darnell Bing was a part of the famed 2002 Long Beach Poly high school class that also included Winston Justice (USC), Marcedes Lewis (U.C.L.A.), Hershel Dennis (USC), and Manuel Wright (Miami Dolphins). Bing did not qualify to play out of high school and spent 2002 at Long Beach (Calif.) City College. All that said, this guy is the type who always seems to come through with the game changing play. He is an big play type player who will garner a lot of attention to teams who want a physical safety with an abundance of potential. Look for Darnell to go in the first round.
