Antonio Cromartie NFL Draft Bio
Antonio Cromartie NFL Draft Bio

Antonio Cromartie has outstanding size with long arms and a decent frame. Antonio is a tremendous natural athlete who is exceptionally fast for a guy of his size. Cromartie has great hands and ball skills with a knack for coming away with the interception. He has fluid hips and is a pure cover man in every sense. Antonio Cromartie can also play a physical game and will support the run. Antonio has a dominating presence, great poise and is a threat to score every time he gets his hands on the ball. With all of his physical attributes, speed, dexterity and good hands would make Antonio a good return man in the NFL. Antonio Cromartie has those top notch intangibles that inspired him to be a game changer during his short career with the Noles and he came through with a number of impact plays. We really like Antonio and feel he has a ton of upside, of which; he has not even begun to reach his vast potential.

Antonio Cromartie is coming off of a knee injury which might make a few general managers and scouts nervous. Has only played in 25 total games and has very little starting experience coming into the 2006 draft. Antonio Cromartie is very raw and his footwork and technique need development but with work should overcome the mental side of the game. Cromartie relies on his enormous potential and needs to play with more consistency to have success at the next level. Another area that needs some serious work is with tackling. Though he has the speed to run down opponents but sometimes has trouble making the tackle. Antonio is aggressive almost to a fault, and will take too many risks at times. We feel that Cromartie is project type player who has a high risk factor which might scare some teams away.

After tearing his ACL in his left need in July, Antonio missed the entire 2005 season. If Antonio’s knee checks out fine by team doctors, and he works out like he is capable, he might just go higher in the draft then most scouts predict. Antonio was a member of the FSU track team that won the ACC Championship in 2004. Cromartie is a rare prospect who might have been a Top 10 overall pick in 2007 had he gone back to school but because he elected to enter the draft early might find his stock lowered a little.
