Tamba Hali is a very solid and compactly built athlete who is intense and very competitive with tons of energy. Tamba is a high energy guy who never seems to stop. Hali is very quick off the ball and has excellent explosiveness and has a pretty fast closing burst to help make the play. Tamba Hali possesses decent strength and will not get pushed around at the NFL level. Tamba has really came into his own as a senior and is very versatile player with experience at defensive tackle position as well as dropping into coverage.

Tamba Hali does not have great size and is a little on the short side for the position and his officially timed speed is nothing too impressive. Need to work on his game to develop more pass rush moves as his repertoire is somewhat limited. Hali has shorter arms then most and doesn't use his hands well. He can be engulfed by bigger offensive lineman and on double teams. Tamba makes a lot of his plays rushing off the edge and might find working the inside to be harder then anticipated. We don’t project Tamba Hali to have much growth potential, so he will have to work hard to be able to compete at the next level.

Hali, a native of Liberia who came to the United States when he was 10-years-old, doesn’t have any outstanding tools but his heart and drive among some of his intangibles should make him effective. Hali is an all around lineman who can rush the passer and play the run and should make a great addition to a team who needs defensive ends.
