Bowe helps Chiefs shut down Chargers

Dwayne Bowe caught eight balls for 164 yards and a touchdown as Kansas City scored 24 unanswered second-half points to top San Diego, 30-16, in a Week 4 clash at Qualcomm Stadium. Damon Huard completed 17-of-29 passes for 284 yards, two scores and a pair of picks for the Chiefs (2-2), who have won two in a row. Larry Johnson rushed 25 times for 123 yards.

Whisenhunt s Cards down Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers were beaten Sunday at their own game by their old offensive co-ordinator and might-have-been head coach. Rookie Steve Breaston returned a punt 73 yards for a touchdown and the Arizona Cardinals defence shut down Pittsburghs high-scoring offence most of the day to hand the Steelers their first loss, 21-14.

Senators finish unbeaten in pre season

Brian Elliott made 34 saves and Patrick Eaves and Nick Folingo scored back-to-back first-period goals to help the Ottawa Senators finish pre-season play as the leagues only undefeated team. Washington outshot Ottawa 35-15, but Elliott kept the Capitals in check with several impressive stops - including a glove save on Kozlovs wrist shot in the slot with 33 seconds left. The Senators also killed off all five Capitals power plays.

Hjorth ends Ochoa s LPGA winning streak

Maria Hjorth made a long birdie putt on the 17th hole and held on for her first LPGA Tour win since 1999 Sunday at the Navistar LPGA Classic, denying Lorena Ochoas bid for a fourth consecutive victory. Hjorth shot a final-day 5-under-par 67 for a 14-under 274 at Capitol Hills Senator Course, passing both Ochoa and Stacy Prammanasudh.

Buc s D dominates in rout of Panthers

Jeff Garcia completed 15-of-25 passes for 176 yards and rushed for a touchdown as Tampa Bay defeated Carolina, 20-7, at Charlottes Bank of America Stadium. Garcia ended with 10 yards on the ground while Earnest Graham rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown for the Buccaneers (3-1), who have won three straight after losing their season opener.

Seahawks slam Niners in San Fran

Matt Hasselbeck completed 23-of-31 passes for 281 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Seattle Seahawks dominated the San Francisco 49ers, 23-3, at Monster Park. Deion Branch had seven catches for 130 yards and Shaun Alexander carried 25 times for 78 yards as the Seahawks (3-1) took over sole possession of first place in the NFC West with the divisional win.

Colts tame the Broncos in Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Colts took Denvers best shot Sunday, and the Broncos couldnt knock out the defending champions. Indianapolis (4-0) relied on flawless execution and some surprise reinforcements after a rash of injuries to score on six of its last eight possessions and pull away with a 38-20 victory. Denver (2-2) lost for the second straight week despite trying to overpower the Colts with its usually efficient ground game.
