In a tale of two seasons, Atlanta suddenly looks like the team the Falcons were expected to be all along. Unfortunately, they only showed that form after a 1-7 start, which likely left too deep a hole and not enough time to pull off an improbable playoff run. Still, the mood is a whole lot sunnier around Flowery Branch.

Jameis Winston fully participates in practice with ankle injury

Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston injured his ankle against the Saints. Not practicing for the Buccaneers on Wednesday was tackle Demar Dotson (not injury related), linebacker Anthony Nelson (hamstring), defensive tackle Jason Pierre-Paul (knee), and cornerback M.J. Stewart (knee). Defensive end William Gholston (ankle) and linebacker Carl Nassib (groin) were limited participants in practice.

Heading into the stretch run of the regular season, the NFL's top teams are trying to find and maintain their winning form as they get ready for the playoffs. In fact, eight of the top 10 teams all won in Week 11 and the other two, Seattle and Green Bay, had byes. The struggling team has lost five of six games following a 2-2 start and likely will miss the playoffs for the 12th straight year. Drew Brees threw three touchdown passes and the visiting New Orleans Saints recorded four interceptions in a 34-17 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon. Against the Buccaneers (3-7), Brees completed 28 of 35 for 228 yards, he wasn't sacked and he didn't throw an interception. Michael Thomas, the leading receiver in the NFL, caught eight of Brees' passes for 114 yards and a touchdown.
