Sunday, October 13th, 2019

For a couple seconds, it looked as though the Atlanta Falcons were going to overtime. After battling their way back against the Arizona Cardinals, the Falcons managed to score a clutch touchdown with just 1:53 remaining. An extra point would tie things up, potentially sending the game into overtime.

Week 6 Booms and Busts: Who’s the best fantasy quarterback now?

Sunday, October 13th, 2019

Just a few weeks ago, Patrick Mahomes was the overwhelming MVP favorite, the Chiefs were undefeated, and fantasy managers were wondering why they didn't go after the QB proactively in their summer drafts. Mahomes is still a wonderful player and could easily end the year as the No. 1 quarterback and the MVP winner. Deshaun Watson and the Texans won at Kansas City on Sunday.

49ers improve to 5-0 with dominant showing vs. rival Rams

Sunday, October 13th, 2019

The San Francisco 49ers are no joke. Leaning on a ball-control offense and a smothering defense, the 49ers dominated the Los Angeles Rams, 20-7 on Sunday to improve to 5-0 and declare their intentions to win the NFC West. The Rams looked good on a 56-yard drive to secure the game's first score with a touchdown on their first possession.

The Tennessee Titans benched starting quarterback Marcus Mariota in favour of veteran backup Ryan Tannehill against the Denver Broncos. Browns’ Mayfield (hip) didn’t consider leaving game

Sunday, October 13th, 2019

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield said after Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks that his left hip injury was never going to force him to leave the game. "There was no conversation (about leaving the game)," Mayfield told reporters. "It hurts, but it's a physical game of football," Mayfield added.

Bridgewater now 4-0 as starter after Saints top Jaguars 13-6

Sunday, October 13th, 2019

Teddy Bridgewater probably should have had another multi-touchdown day for the New Orleans Saints. Bridgewater missed wide-open receivers Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn for would-be scores in the 13-6 victory Sunday, two of just a handful of mistakes for the backup quarterback. Bridgewater was on target when it mattered most, connecting with Jared Cook for a 4-yard touchdown on a third-and-4 play early in the fourth quarter and improving to 4-0 in place of injured star Drew Brees.

Tannehill entered with 4:56 remaining in the third quarter, the Titans' first possession after Mariota threw his second interception of the game on a heave under pressure. Justin Simmons' pick set up the Broncos' first touchdown of the game, putting Tennessee in a 13-0 hole.

Ron Rivera on Kyle Allen versus Cam Newton: When the time comes, I will address it

Sunday, October 13th, 2019

Carolina head coach Ron Rivera is not going to address who will be the Panthers' starting quarterback until Cam Newton is fit to return, despite Kyle Allen remaining unbeaten since taking over the job. Newton played in defeats to the San Francisco 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the start of the NFL season but struggled, with the team then announcing he would be out of action with a foot injury. In his absence, Allen has led the team to four straight victories, including a 37-26 triumph over the Bucs in London on Sunday.

“Unwavering belief” links today’s Seahawks to 2013 edition

Sunday, October 13th, 2019

Last year, after the Seahawks beat the Lions in Detroit, Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson told PFT that it felt like 2012 all over again for a team that most had overlooked. This year, after the Seahawks beat the Browns in Cleveland, I asked him if it feels like 2013. “Hopefully,” Wilson said in reference to the question of whether the Seahawks can compete for and win the Super Bowl.
