Bills DE Jerry Hughes signs two-year extension

After adding a haul of players from other teams in free agency, the Buffalo Bills are rewarding one of their own. The Bills signed top pass rusher Jerry Hughes to a two-year contract extension Tuesday that will keep the defensive end in Buffalo through 2021. Hughes' contract was set to expire after the upcoming season.

Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner has said that he's preparing for this season as if it will be his last one in Seattle and that preparation doesn't currently include practicing at organized team activities. Wagner is in the final year of his contract and said Tuesday, via multiple reporters, he won't participate in the sessions without a new contract from the team. He gave a hint about what kind of contract he's looking for when he noted the deal C.J. Mosley got from the Jets this offseason.

The Buffalo Bills agreed to a contract extension with defensive end Jerry Hughes, multiple media outlets reported Tuesday, putting him under contract through 2021. According to ESPN, Hughes' extension is worth up to $23 million with $19.5 million guaranteed. Hughes, who turns 31 in August, was set to make $7.5 million in 2019, the final year of a five-year, $45 million extension signed in March of 2015.
