First-round pick Isaiah Wynn is expected to step up and replace him in the starting lineup, but he is still recovering from an Achilles tear that he suffered last preseason and hasn't been a full-go at training camp so far.

Jones: Cowboys won’t be market setters on contracts for Elliott and others

Dallas Cowboys executive vice-president Stephen Jones said the team will not be a "market setter" as they negotiate contracts for stars Ezekiel Elliott, Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper. Elliott, who still has two years remaining on his rookie deal, is holding out for a new deal. The All-Pro running back is reportedly looking for a contract exceeding the record four-year, $57.5million extension signed by Los Angeles Rams star Todd Gurley last year.

Cowboys release son of Hall of Famer Larry Allen at camp

The Dallas Cowboys have released offensive lineman Larry Allen Jr., the son of Hall of Fame guard Larry Allen, to make room for linebacker Justin Phillips. The younger Allen joined his dad's former team as an undrafted free agent in May but ended up being the first cut of training camp in California, his home state. Allen played at Harvard.

All-Pro Michael Thomas and the New Orleans Saints agreed to a five-year, $100 million contract with a $20 million signing bonus that will make him the league's highest-paid wide receiver. Thomas will earn $1.1 million in the final year of his rookie contract in 2019, and the extension will lock him up with the Saints through the 2024 season. The Saints drafted Thomas, an Ohio State product, in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Seahawks waive Daniel Williams

Stephon Gilmore credits Tom Brady for ‘making everyone better’

Stephon Gilmore is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. Gilmore was always a strong player during his days with the Buffalo Bills. "It's helped me out a lot, just seeing his work ethic coming out here each and every day, making everybody better," Gilmore said to reporters after Wednesday's practice. "I mean, he throws a great ball, so if you're in the position to make a play on his ball, you can pretty much make a play on anybody's ball.

Report: Cowboys, Ezekiel Elliott are not close

On Tuesday, the NFL grapevine indicated that the Saints and receiver Michael Thomas were close. The NFL grapevine currently isn't indicating that the Cowboys and running back Ezekiel Elliott are close. Jane Slater of the NFL asked an unnaamed source whether a deal is close.
