The union for NFL players has turned to a federal appeals court in its quest to let Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott play Sunday at home against Kansas City as he fights his six-game suspension over domestic violence allegations. Union lawyers say Elliott's suspension should be delayed until the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals considers the issue. The NFL Players Association first asked U.S. District Judge Katherine Polk Failla to suspend her Monday ruling reinstating the suspension during an appeal.

Washington adds defensive end Arthur Jones

The Washington Redskins are adding veteran defensive end Arthur Jones to their roster. Jones posted a photo to his instagram account Tuesday morning showing his signing with Washington. The Redskins have not announced the deal, which requires a corresponding move to free up a roster spot.

With an open roster spot available after trading Duane Brown to the Seattle Seahawks, the Houston Texans have made an addition to their defensive line. According to multiple reports, the Texans signed defensive tackle Angelo Blackson off the New England Patriots practice squad on Tuesday. Houston lost defensive end Christian Covington for the rest of the season after he tore his biceps in Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks.
