It didn’t take long for the best day of Dustin Fowler’s baseball career to become the worst. The New York Yankees rookie outfielder, playing in the very first inning of his very first big-league game Thursday night, slammed into the wall beyond the foul line in right field at Chicago’s Guaranteed Rate Field. The incident brought to mind Moonlight Graham, whose baseball legend revolves around never getting an at-bat in the big leagues.

Ravens tight end suspended a year or more for violating substance abuse policy

The NFL announced today that tight end Darren Waller of the Baltimore Ravens would be suspended for a year or longer for his second violation of the substance abuse policy. Waller was a 2015 sixth-round pick out of Georgia Tech who served a four-game suspension to start the 2016 season for a substance abuse violation.

Former Packers, Broncos TE Mitchell Henry dies of leukemia

Former NFL tight end Mitchell Henry died Friday of complications from acute myeloid leukemia. He was 24. "It is with great sadness that we learned of Mitchell's passing this morning," Western Kentucky athletic director Todd Stewart said in a statement. "Mitchell was as committed to his teammates, his University, his friends and his family as anyone you will ever find, and we were so fortunate to have him as part of our Hilltopper family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his lovely wife Madison, and all of those who were blessed to have known Mitchell." Former Broncos tight end Mitchell Henry dies of leukemia at 24

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Former Broncos tight end Mitchell Henry, who was with the team for five weeks during the Super Bowl-winning season in 2015, died Friday after a battle with leukemia. He was 24. Henry spent two seasons in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers, Broncos and Baltimore Ravens after being undrafted out of Western Kentucky in 2015.
