Canada outlasts U S for hockey gold

Sidney Crosby took a pass from Jarome Iginla and scored just under eight minutes into overtime to give Canada a 3-2 win over the United States and the gold medal in Olympic mens hockey on Sunday.

Zach Parise scored for the United States with the goalie pulled and just 25 seconds left in the third to send the gold medal hockey game with Canada into overtime. Jonathan Toews and Corey Perry have scored for Canada, with Ryan Kesler also scoring for the U.S.

Ryan Kesler redirected Patrick Kanes pass into the Canada net in the second period to put the U.S. on the board in the Olympic gold medal hockey game. Jonathan Toews and Corey Perry had scored earlier for Canada on American goalie Ryan Miller in the tightly contested game.
