Malkin avoids suspension for instigator penalty

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin will not be suspended after receiving an instigator penalty in the closing seconds of Game 2 of the Stanley Cup final, the NHL announced after Sundays contest.

Stanley Cup unknowns poised to grab spotlight

At the start of the Stanley Cup playoffs, NHL fans probably could have predicted that Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin would be near, the top of the scoring race. Further from the thoughts of most fans were some unlikely heroes.

Rookie leads Wings to 2 0 lead on Penguins in finals

Valtteri Filppula scored the eventual winner and rookie Justin Abdelkader added the insurance as the Detroit Red Wings beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1 Sunday night in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup finals.

Canadians Moran and Casper win bronze at synchro diving event

Indians Sizemore put on 15 day DL
