Warriors rally past Rockets

Golden State was sloppy, coach Don Nelson was furious and the Warriors still beat the Houston Rockets. Baron Davis scored 23 points and Al Harrington had 16 points and 11 rebounds as Golden State overcame 21 turnovers to rally past the Rockets 112-95 on Monday night.

Hamilton Billups send Pistons past Bucks

Richard Hamilton scored 22 points and Chauncey Billups added 13 points and 12 assists, helping the Detroit Pistons rout the Milwaukee Bucks 114-69 Monday for their ninth straight win. The 45-point margin of defeat was the third-worst in Bucks history, trailing a pair of 48-point losses. The Pistons have won 17 of 19, including a franchise-record 15 wins in December, while Milwaukee has lost four straight and six of seven.

Magic down Bulls at the buzzer

Hedo Turkoglu hit a fadeaway jumper with seven-tenths of a second left in overtime, and the Orlando Magic beat the Chicago Bulls 112-110 Monday. The Bulls lost for the first time in three games since Jim Boylan became interim head coach following the firing of Scott Skiles. After Chicagos Ben Gordon hit a tying 3 with 6.7 seconds left, Turkoglu made a shot over Ben Wallace. The Magics fourth win a row was secure when Wallace missed from midcourt at the buzzer.

Sweden downs Czechs earns first place

Duncan Spurs cruise past Grizzlies

Tony Parker and Tim Duncan each scored 24 points as the San Antonio Spurs beat Memphis 111-87 on Sunday night, handing the Grizzlies their fifth straight loss. Duncan also grabbed 17 rebounds and Parker had nine assists. Michael Finley scored 22 points, including five three-pointers, for the Spurs. The Spurs secured a 3-1 series advantage over the Grizzlies; the teams will not meet again during the regular season.

Davis scores 28 as Warriors beat Denver

Blazers earn 13th straight win

Brandon Roy scored 22 points and the Portland Trail Blazers rallied to beat the Philadelphia 76ers 97-72 on Sunday for their league-leading 13th straight win. It is the second-longest winning streak in Blazers history. Portland won 16 straight in the 1990-91 season. Trailing 63-59 in the third quarter, the Blazers (18-12) went on a 20-0 run over 7:03. Andre Iguodala had 24 points for the 76ers, and Andre Miller added 17 points and 11 assists.

Ravens break nine game skid over Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers were not interested in gaining the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs, nor did they care about generating momentum for the post-season. Their primary objective against the Baltimore Ravens was merely to keep several key starters healthy, a goal that was assured before the opening kickoff of Pittsburghs 27-21 loss Sunday.

Red hot Redskins clinch playoff spot

From disarray to dominance, the Washington Redskins will enter the playoffs as the hottest team in the NFC. And with the hottest quarterback in the conference. And maybe the hottest running back. And with a defence coming off a game in which it allowed exactly 1 yard rushing. The Redskins reached the post-season Sunday with a 27-6 victory over the archrival Dallas Cowboys, capping an emotional renaissance to a season that appeared lost less than a month ago.
