AK s triple double sinks Lakers

Andrei Kirilenko had his third career triple-double and Deron Williams scored a career-high 35 points to help the Utah Jazz overcome injuries to two starters and beat the Los Angeles Lakers 120-96 on Friday night. Kirilenko finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, along with six steals.

Durant helps Sonics stop 6 game skid

Kevin Durant scored 22 of his career-high 35 points in the second half, and the Seattle SuperSonics beat the Indiana Pacers 95-93 on Friday night to become the final NBA team to win a home game this season. Seattle was 0-7 at home and had lost 11 straight home games dating to last season. But Durant showed off the skills that made him the No. 2 overall pick in the closing minutes to help Seattle (3-14) snap a six-game skid and avoid the worst 17-game start in franchise history.

Iverson and Carmelo team up on Clippers

Allen Iverson scored 26 points and Carmelo Anthony added 24 to help the Denver Nuggets snap a three-game skid with a 123-107 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night. J.R. Smith scored 22, hitting six three-pointers, and Anthony Carter had a season-high 10 assists.

Oilers offensive explosion sinks Ducks

Shawn Horcoff had a goal and two assists as the Edmonton Oilers continued their home dominance over Anaheim with a 5-1 victory over the Ducks on Friday night. Ales Hemsky, Kyle Brodziak, Andrew Cogliano and Steve Staios also scored for Edmonton while Ryan Getzlaf had the lone goal for Anaheim.

Thornton leads Sharks past Avalanche

OHL 67 s beat Generals

The Ottawa 67s arent lighting up the Ontario Hockey League - but theyll gladly take being above the .500 mark. Logan Couture scored early in the first period and added two assists as the 67s beat the Oshawa Generals 7-3 Friday night, giving Ottawa its first winning record since mid-October.

Suns survive monster night by Howard

Raja Bell had a season-high 20 points to pace the Suns to a 110-106 victory on Friday night over the Orlando Magic, the NBAs winningest team. The Magic are now 14-4, with two of their losses against the Suns, who also beat them 106-96 at Orlando Nov. 10.

Former Wild captain Walz to retire

The Wild announced late Friday night that they will hold a press conference with centre Wes Walz on Saturday morning, when Walz is expected to announce his retirement after 12 seasons in the NHL.
