I am sure they would rather have him suited up in uniform for one more year. Steve Yzerman is perhaps the most underrated player in the history of the NHL. Yzerman’s career in Detroit has been amazing and Steve is so unassuming that you tend to forget about him. Great team leader and a very productive player who will be missed in Detroit.
