During last night's Super Bowl LIV, the National Football League aired a commercial it debuted last month during the AFC Championship Game. In the minute-long clip, the former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin speaks about his cousin Corey Jones, who was killed by a police officer in 2015. At the time, Boldin was playing for the San Francisco 49ers, who lost Sunday to the Kansas City Chiefs, 20–31.

Jen Welter, who made history as the first woman to serve as a coach in the National Football League, is partnering with Amelia Baker and Mackenzie Munro's Blonde Mamba and independent producer Casey Russell Hanley on the original series “FanGirl,” a half-hour single-camera comedy about best friends who become the first-ever female assistant coaches for their local team. Billed as “Broad City” meets “Friday Night Lights,” the series will be executive produced by Welter, and will draw on her experiences as a trailblazer in the sport. Ellie Monahan (“The Boys,” “Mr. Robot”), Will Ropp (“The Way Back”) and Jacqueline Toboni (“The 'L' Word: Generation Q,” “Grimm”) are attached as writers.

Former Raven Terrell Suggs helped the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 Sunday night in Super Bowl LIV. Suggs, who spent 16 seasons with the Ravens, recorded two tackles and a quarterback hit against the 49ers and helped the Chiefs secure the Lombardi Trophy. Suggs departed from Baltimore before the 2019 season, signing a one-year deal with his hometown Arizona Cardinals before being waived mid-season.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes turned on the jets in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers, going 10-for-16 for 141 yards and a pair of touchdowns, helping his team erase a 10-point deficit en route to a 31-20 win. Mahomes was once a well-regarded pitching prospect, selected by the Detroit Tigers out of high school in the 37th round of the 2014 draft. Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was selected by the Athletics ninth overall in the 2018 draft, but chose to focus on his football career.

Kyler Murray believes he can reach the level of the last two NFL MVPs Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson after being named Offensive Rookie of the Year. Quarterback Murray turned his back on an MLB career to declare for last year's NFL Draft and the Arizona Cardinals made him the first overall pick. Later that evening Baltimore Ravens quarterback Jackson was named MVP by unanimous vote, succeeding Kansas City Chiefs signal caller Mahomes, with both men winning the NFL's most prestigious individual prize in their second years in the league.

There seemed to be just one certainty in the 2020 Pro Football Hall of Fame class: Troy Polamalu would get in on the first ballot. The Pittsburgh Steelers safety was one of the most recognizable, popular and effective players of this century. The 2003 first-round pick out of USC played 12 seasons, made eight Pro Bowls and helped the Steelers win two Super Bowls.

Josh Jacobs did not win the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award at Saturday's NFL Honors. The outstanding Raiders running back was overlooked in favor of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. A worthy candidate to be sure, but Murray simply wasn't as dynamic a presence during the 2019 season.
