Michigan Hires Arizona State’s Shaun Nua As Its New Defensive Line Coach

According to, Michigan has hired Arizona State's Shaun Nua as its new defensive line coach, replacing the departed Greg Mattison, who left to become the co-defensive coordinator at Ohio State on Jan. 7. The 2018 campaign was Nua's lone season with the Sun Devils, previously serving as the defensive line coach for Navy from 2012-17. Arizona State ranked 74th nationally against the run in 2018, yielding 170.5 yards per game.

SDSU has plenty of concerns going against No. 23 Sun Devils

San Diego State coach Rocky Long was driving to work earlier this week when he heard on the radio that the NFL's Jets knew all the Detroit Lions' signals, resulting in a 48-17 victory for New York. Arizona State is going to have that,'' Long said about the No. 23 Sun Devils (2-0), who visit the Aztecs (1-1) on Saturday night. After the Aztecs went 10-3 last year, new ASU coach Herm Edwards hired away Aztecs defensive coordinator Danny Gonzales to serve in the same role with the Sun Devils.
