49ers rookie Deebo Samuel still can produce big numbers with fewer snaps

Thursday, September 19th, 2019

It was no reflection of what the 49ers think of rookie wide receiver Deebo Samuel when coach Kyle Shanahan said after Week 1 he wanted him on the field for fewer plays. Samuel played 59 of the 49ers' 68 offensive snaps against Tampa Bay. In the 49ers' 41-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Samuel played just 27 of the team's 70 snaps.

Yahoo DFS Football: Week 3 Picks

Thursday, September 19th, 2019

TOURNAMENTS (GPP – GUARANTEED PRIZE POOL) QB: Dak Prescott, DAL vs. MIA ($39): Prescott certainly doesn't look like a deal as this slate's most expensive quarterback at $39, but he'll be at home against a Dolphins team that has looked historically inept through two games, getting outscored 102-10 without yet having to go on the road. Meanwhile, Dak's off to a blistering start this season with a completion percentage of 82.3 percent, 674 yards and a 7:1 TD:INT through two weeks. Even if the Cowboys choose to take their foot off the gas late, what Prescott does up until that point could be enough to lead the position in scoring this week.

Dee Ford missed several weeks of practice with the San Francisco 49ers in August as he was dealing with tendinitis in his knee. After returning to practice the final week of the preseason and suiting up in the team's first two regular season games, Ford had the issue surface once again Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. According to Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area, Ford played just 25 of 70 defensive snaps for the 49ers in Cincinnati as he was sidelined in the second quarter of the team's 41-17 win over the Bengals.

The Buffalo Bills are seeking their first 3-0 start in eight years when they host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Seahawks line looks to improve after sacks, penalties

Wednesday, September 18th, 2019

Back in May, Seahawks left tackle Duane Brown said he believed Seattle's offensive line had a chance to be the best in the NFL. While Seattle is off to a 2-0 start, that prediction hasn't played out over the first two weeks of the season. Russell Wilson has been sacked eight times and the unit had seven penalties called against it in Sunday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Ouch! Bengals recovering from worst defensive showing

Wednesday, September 18th, 2019

Marquise Goodwin lined up in the slot on the right side of the line, took a few steps toward center as the ball was snapped, and then sprinted downfield. Goodwin was so open for his 38-yard touchdown catch that Garoppolo acknowledged he was nervous when he let the pass fly, worried that he might miss an unguarded receiver. Cincinnati was gashed for 572 total yards - 259 on the ground - during a 41-17 loss to San Francisco, the most points a Bengals team has allowed in a home opener.

49ers’ Dee Ford, Jaquiski Tartt listed as day-to-day with injuries

The 49ers plan to rest defensive end Dee Ford from practice Wednesday and Thursday to give him a better chance to be available to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Coach Kyle Shanahan said Ford and safety Jaquiski Tartt are "day-to-day." Tartt sustained a toe injury in the 49ers' 41-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Ford did not play any in the second half of that game.

By the numbers: Defining stats from Seahawks 28-26 win over Steelers

Tuesday, September 17th, 2019

The Seattle Seahawks won ugly for the second straight week, but Sunday's victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers looked much different than the Week 1 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Contrary to the opener, Seattle dominated Pittsburgh from a statistical standpoint. This time, it was the Seahawks who committed turnovers to keep the Steelers in the game.
