Jason Spezza scored a goal and had an assist and Ray Emery stopped 27 shots Wednesday as the Ottawa Senators defeated Carolina 2-0 and beat the Hurricanes for the second consecutive night.
Spezza helped set up Dany Heatley in the first period, then added a third-period insurance goal as the Senators (38-22-4) won their third straight game and eighth in their past nine contests before a crowd of 19,261 at sold-out Scotiabank Place. Ottawa swept the home and home series with the Hurricanes, winning 4-2 in Carolina on Tuesday.
