Hall of Famer Fred Biletnikoff retired Wednesday as the Oakland Raiders wide receivers coach after spending more than three decades as a player and coach for the franchise.
Biletnikoff, who is second in team history with 589 career catches, spent the past 18 seasons on the Raiders coaching staff, the last 10 as receivers coach.

The Atlanta Hawks capped their first winning month in almost three years with their highest point total of the season, beating the Golden State Warriors 115-94 on Wednesday night.
Joe Johnson, hoping to be picked as a reserve for the all-star game, scored 33 points. The Hawks are 9-5 when Johnson scores 30 or more points.

Chris Bosh sunk a 56-foot buzzer-beater as part of a 34-point performance, leading the Toronto Raptors to a 119-109 victory over the Eastern Conference-leading Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
Jose Calderon finished with 24 points and a game-high 11 assists for the Raptors (23-23), who are back at .500 once again and have won six of their last eight outings. Andrea Bargnani finished with 14 points, Morris Peterson finished with 11 and Rasho Nesterovic added 10 for Toronto.

Gerald Wallace scored 17 of his career-high 42 points in the fourth quarter as the Charlotte Bobcats defeated the New York Knicks 104-87 on Wednesday night.
Wallace hit a three-pointer, a free throw and had a thunderous dunk in an 8-0 run that put Charlotte ahead 97-82 with 2:44 left. He made 14-of-22 shots and 11-of-17 free throws, besting his previous career-best night by a point.

Kobe Bryant returned from his one-game suspension and had 43 points, eight rebounds and eight assists to help the Los Angeles Lakers beat Boston 111-98 Wednesday night and send the Celtics to a franchise-record 13th consecutive loss.
Bryant was suspended by the NBA after whacking - accidentally, he said - San Antonios Manu Ginobili in the face on Sunday.

Richard Hamilton scored 24 points and the Detroit Pistons set a team record by making 27 consecutive free throws in a 113-89 victory over the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday night.
Chauncey Billups added 18 points, including 12 on perfect shooting from the free throw line, and Chris Webber had 17 as the Pistons won for the fifth time in seven games and snapped the Nets two-game winning streak. Jason Maxiell had 16 and Antonio McDyess had eight points and 12 rebounds.
