The racing side of the Stremme family was actually born in the 1950's when David's great uncle, Jim, began competing at South Bend Motor Speedway, just down the block from where the family called home. David grew up in the shadows of his father, Lou, who was an independent racer in the Midwest. David first found himself visiting his successful racing father in victory lane at tracks such as the famous Kalamazoo Speedway in Michigan. But the racing genes were not just held by the male side of the family. David's mother, Cindy, was not only a supporter of her husband, but a racer herself and a winner as well.
