National Hockey League (NHL) Welcome to the NHL League Logo database. You are viewing the national hockey league logo that was used from 1936 to 2004. This logo is slightly different then the one the NHL used from 1918 - 1936 with the NHL text being slightly smaller and standing upright as the text followed the downward angle. The NHL logo designed in 1936 used the customary black and orange color scheme which has been used on all NHL merchandise, collectables and print media up until 2004. In 2005 the NHL logo was redesigned with the silver color you see today.
