Tiger Woods wins Ford Championship at Doral to regain his World No. 1 ranking.Current PGA Tour News With the last few weeks on the PGA Tour some people have suggested that they would like the Masters Tournament played now while the players are hot. This week at the Ford Championship at Doral Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson put an exclamation point on those thoughts.
Tiger's win at Doral gave him a third straight win over Phil Mickelson in a final round and cemented his return to No. 1 in the World Ranking.
It's interesting that Woods edged Mickelson by one stroke on Sunday at Doral and the match up between these two fan favorites in the final round was probably the most exciting event to come from this weekend. Vijay Singh rallied with a 66 to finish third which also made the event more exciting.
The fans of the PGA should be excited with the return of Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson to the leader boards fueling the competitive fire between these two exceptional athletes. The hope is that these two players along with Vijay Singh will spark a competitive revolution which has not been seen since before Woods started his dominating play.
