Nestled in the coastal foothills 30 minutes north of San Diego, La Costa is a classic destination legendary for its world-class Spa, championship golf courses, tennis club, cuisine, fitness programs and attentive service. Newly transformed by a resort-wide $140-million renovation “The All-New La Costa” now fashions a completely new look and feel, inside and out.The fairways are generous, but scattered with trees. The elevated greens putt true and are well bunkered. Both courses have water hazards coming into play on several holes. The terrain is flat and easy to walk, however, you must be accompanied by a caddie if you choose to walk. "GOLF Magazine" rated the South Course 99th best under the 1996 category of "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S." Joe Lee added the back nine to the South Course in 1973, and the back nine to the North Course in 1989. This large and exceptionally beautiful resort also offers spa facilities as well as a complete tennis program.
Previous winners include, 2004 Tiger Woods, 2003 Tiger Woods, 2002 Kevin Sutherland, 2001 Steve Stricker, 2000 Darren Clarke, 1999 Jeff Maggert
