Joseph Randle NFL Draft Bio

Joseph Randle (born December 29, 1991) is an American football running back for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League. He played college football for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. In the 2013 NFL Draft, Randle was selected in the 5th Round (151st overall) by the Dallas Cowboys.

Randle attended Wichita Southeast High School in Wichita, Kansas. He was first-team all-state on defense and second-team all-state on offense, and was an All-league defensive back. His senior season stats included 1,200 rushing yards with 12 touchdowns. He was an all-metro and all-league performer as a junior. He rushed for more than 3,600 yards in his career. Also, he was a track athlete, where he participated in the 100, 200 and 400 meters, and was a state qualifier in the long jump and triple jump.

Considered a four-star recruit by Rivals.com, he was rated as the 25th best running back in the nation. He accepted a scholarship to Oklahoma State.

As a freshman in 2010, Randle rushed for 452 yards on 82 carries with two touchdowns. As a sophomore in 2011, he was a second team All-Big 12 selection after rushing for 1,216 yards on 208 carries and 24 touchdowns. The 24 touchdowns were second most in school history, behind Barry Sanders who had 37 in 1989. In 2012, he was the Big-12 Conference's leading rusher with 1,417 yards, and scored 14 touchdowns and earned first team all conference honours.
